CRC 1411 – Design of Particulate Products
The HI ERN participates in a newly funded Collaborative Research Center (CRC) at FAU
The German Research Foundation (DFG) has approved a new Collaborative Research Center (CRC) for the Friedrich-Alexander-University Erlangen-Nürnberg (FAU) to start in January 2020. The CRC will be coordinated by FAU and its researchers are set to receive around 11 million euros in funding for nanoparticle design. The research team is planning a novel approach by developing models to design and optimize the nanoparticles before they are produced in the laboratory, a technique that has been made possible by close collaboration between mathematics and particle technology.
The HI ERN research department “Dynamics of Complex Fluids and Interfaces” participates in the CRC with a project on computer simulations of nanoparticle transport in complex geometries. The aim is to contribute to the development and optimization of nanoparticles with specific properties and to the improvement of techniques for their separation.
