- 20 Oct 2019 01:00
- Cauerstr. 4, 91058 Erlangen
Every two years the “Lange Nacht der Wissenschaften“, the long night of sciences, is held in Nürnberg, Fürth and Erlangen.
This year, on the 19th of October it’s hosted again. The “Lange Nacht der Wissenschaften” is a science fair where interested visitors have the possibility to attend experiments, lectures and shows presented by universities and actively researching companies.
You will be able to inform yourself about our institute at our booth and also to participate in an experiment (to be read in the program on p. 97f.). You will find us in the Department of Chemical and Biological Engineering of FAU in the Cauerstraße 4 in Erlangen.
The fuel cell car: Pioneer of a zero-emission future
Spectators will have the opportunity to learn about the hydrogen vehicle, the Toyota Mirai, and about the hydrogen mobility of the future. You can also talk to the scientists about the interface to research at the institute.
Exhibition, 18:00 - 1:00 h, entrance hall
Infrared thermography for photovoltaic applications
Infrared (IR) thermography, the imaging measurement of temperature with IR cameras, is ideally suited for non-contact measurement of solar modules. See how a drone with IR camera is used to inspect solar parks or how to make invisible module errors visible. Visitors receive their own IR portrait. Image rights:
Information stand, hands-on campaign, 18:00 - 1:00, entrance hall
Hydrogen-based Electric Mobility - Simplified and Miniaturized Explained
With the help of electrocatalysts, hydrogen can be produced from renewable electricity by electrolysis. Since this process can be reversed in fuel cells and electricity can be generated from them, this closed cycle is an attractive alternative to fossil fuels.
Exhibition, Experiment, 18:00 - 1:00, Entrance Hall
We’re excited for your visit!
