Research interest

Fundamental and applied electrochemistry, particularly in the fields of electrocatalysis and electrode kinetics related to energy conversion and storage (water electrolysis, fuel cells, batteries...) including:

  • fundamental studies on metal/water interactions and oxide/water interactions; introducing new activity and stability descriptors and eventual activity-stability interrelations for oxygen evolution reaction (OER)
  • design and characterization of mixed binary and ternary oxides for OER, including rational design of electrode morphology on micro- and nanoscale
  • studies on gas-bubble effect and mass transport including development of advanced analytical tools/methods for characterization of gas evolving electrodes
  • electrocatalysis of hydrogen evolution reaction (HER) including fundamental studies on proton reduction and applied studies related to design of nonnoble electrocatalytic materials
