Research interest

The research project is focused on artificial microswimmers in form of paramagnetic particles trapped at fluid-gas interfaces. Due to interplay between attractive capillary forces and repulsive magnetic dipolar interactions a stable configuration of such particles can be achieved. When the static magnetic field is modulated by a time-varying magnetic field of smaller amplitudes, the assembly of particles starts moving. The objective of the current project is to understand the underlying physics of the motion based on numerical simulations within the framework of a lattice Boltzmann method and analytical treatments combining principles of physics of fluids and statistical methods.
