Team Process Units for Chemical Hydrogen Storage

Our goal is to improve, develop and rethink apparatuses and processes for chemical hydrogen storage in Liquid Organic Hydrogen Carriers. We are developing novel concepts for chemical conversion units, new process concepts and improving the interconnection of the apparatuses to form an efficient process.
To achieve this, the team focuses on the modeling of reactors and processes, the optimization and the construction of apparatus. We work in different fields of hydrogen storage:
- Mixed gas hydrogenation
- Transfer hydrogenation
- Reactor development for hydrogenation and dehydrogenation
- Separation concepts for hydrogen purification
- Coupling of dehydrogenation technologies with hydrogen combustion technologies
In addition to the aspects of hydrogen storage, part of the team is working on the conversion of biomass into oxomethylene ethers for use as diesel additives.
