Wissenschaft online+: "I see what you don't see: filming chemical reactions"
Controlled chemical reactions enable us to design high-tech processes. Tailor-made reactions are highly relevant, not least for successful decarbonization. It is therefore particularly interesting to film such reactions in liquid using transmission electron microscopy. However, in order to use this technique on a broad scale, it must be ruled out that the reaction itself feels observed.

Background
Dr.-Ing. Birk Fritsch (HI ERN) is one of five young researchers in the Young Excellent Scientist Program (YESP). As part of this program, the selected postdocs can present their research in the Science online+ format. Birk Fritsch's research focuses on correlative operando studies of degradation mechanisms in electrocatalysis.
Paticipation
Participation is free of charge, registration is not necessary.
Anyone with an internet connection and a PC or tablet (preferably with a camera and microphone) can join the event at the specified time. The presentation will take place on the MS Teams platform.
Note: The event will be held in German.
The "Wissenschaft online" format
Every week on Thursdays from 3 p.m. to 4 p.m., researchers from Forschungszentrum Jülich present their work in a video conference. Short films and photos complement the format. Questions from participants and a lively exchange are expressly encouraged. The series is organized by Forschungszentrum Jülich, to which HI ERN also belongs. (more in german)
