The research focuses on the electrochemical reduction of CO2, emphasizing how adding organic modifiers stirs its selectivity towards added-value products. For instance, we test and compare the novel "Supported catalyst with ionic liquid layer" (SCILL) using standard H cells and gas diffusion electrodes (GDE) at relevant industry current densities. To make this job possible, the electrosynthesis group has developed stations for long-term and real-time electrochemical measurements, coupled with various analytical techniques essential for a reliable catalyst scan. These techniques enable unique ways to evaluate the reaction products for CO2 electroreduction.
