Science online: "Electrocatalysis - Catalysts under power"
Besucherservice
Electrocatalysis deals with the interaction of catalytic processes and electrical energy. Interesting future technologies such as the fuel cell or water electrolysis have emerged from this fascinating field.
In his lecture, Prof. Simon Thiele will first explain the basics of electrocatalysis and then successively discuss the major current and future applications and their significance for the energy transition.
Note: The event will be held in German.

About the speaker
Prof. Simon Thiele heads the Department of Electrocatalytic Interfacial Engineering at HI ERN. He concentrates on electrochemical energy converters and electrochemical energy storage systems with a particular focus on the analysis and production of polymer electrolyte membrane fuel cells and electrolyzers.
Participation
Participation is free of charge, registration is not necessary.
Anyone with an internet connection and a PC or tablet (preferably with a camera and microphone) can join the event at the specified time. The presentation will take place on the MS Teams platform.
The "Science online" format
Every week on Thursdays from 3 p.m. to 4 p.m., researchers from Forschungszentrum Jülich present their work in a video conference. Short films and photos complement the format. Questions from participants and a lively exchange are expressly encouraged. The series is organized by Forschungszentrum Jülich, to which HI ERN also belongs. (more)
