HI ERN scientist receives Zerweck Prize
The Department of Chemistry and Pharmacy annually awards the best chemistry PhD thesis at FAU.
HI ERN scientist Dr. Max Martin has received the 2020 Zerweck Prize, which is awarded annually by the Department of Chemistry and Pharmacy to the best chemistry PhD thesis at the Friedrich-Alexander University Erlangen-Nürnberg. The prize is endowed with 1000 Euros.
With his thesis “Porphyrin-Functionalized Nanographenes” Dr. Max Martin contributed significantly to the research field of carbon-rich architectures that yielded, inter alia, in seven first-author publications in internationally renowned journals between 2017 and 2020.
In April 2020, Dr. Max Martin joined the research department Chemical Hydrogen Storage of Prof. Dr. Peter Wasserscheid at HI ERN as a postdoctoral researcher. His current research focuses on the development of hydrogen storage systems based on LOHCs, which are expected to be an essential technology for a future carbon neutral society.
