Award: HI ERN Visiting Researcher Receives Best Poster Prize

HI ERN visiting researcher Tuani Carla Gentil has been honored with the Best Poster Award for her poster titled "Stability study of Pd-based electrocatalysts by Online SFC-ICP-MS applied to EOR". She received the award at the 34th Topical Meeting of the International Society of Electrochemistry (ISE) in Mar del Plata, Argentina.
M.Sc. Tuani Carla Gentil is performing a research internship abroad scholarship (BEPE) for Ph.D. students funded by the Research Support Foundation of the State of São Paulo – FAPESP. Since March 2022, she has been working at HI ERN in the research group "Electrochemical Energy Conversion" under the supervision of Dr. Serhiy Cherevko.
In her research at HI ERN she was evaluating the dissolution of electrocatalysts based on palladium, supported by high surface area carbon, destined for the anode of alkaline direct liquid cells. Thus, she studied the stability of these electrocatalysts by means of accelerated stress tests using a rotating ring disk electrode (RRDE) to evaluate the dissolution of metals to be investigated quantitatively using a microelectrochemical scanning flow cell (SFC) coupled with an inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometer (On-line ICP-MS).
