Dr. Jens Hauch elected new Chairman of the Board of ENERGIEregion Nürnberg e.V.
Nuremberg, November 30, 2023 - At the general meeting of the Competence Initiative for Energy and Environment in the Nuremberg Metropolitan Region on November 21, 2023, the board of directors was unanimously elected for the 2023 to 2025 term of office.
Dr. Jens Hauch, head of the department "High Throughput Methods in Photovoltaics" at the Helmholtz Institute Erlangen-Nuremberg for Renewable Energy (HI ERN) was unanimously elected. He succeeds Dr. Michael Fraas, who resigned from office in September 2023 due to a career change. Rainer Kleedörfer (N-ERGIE Aktiengesellschaft), Roland Piatkowski (tga-engineering GmbH) and Thomas Vogel (zeitgeist engineering gmbh) will support the board as deputy chairmen in future.

"I would like to thank the members for their trust and look forward to working together with the new Board! The association has undergone outstanding development over the last ten years. Now we have to work together to lay the foundations for development over the next ten years," commented Dr. Hauch on the election and also thanked his predecessor Dr. Fraas and the association's office in particular.
Monika Dietrich (Chamber of Skilled Crafts for Middle Franconia), Frank Gentzwein (TÜV Süd Industrie Service GmbH), Dr. Andrea Heilmaier (Nuremberg City Council's Department of Economics and Science), Jakob Rietzler (Rietzler Gruppe GmbH), Stefan Schinke (Sparkasse Nürnberg) and Dr. Robert Schmidt (Nuremberg Chamber of Industry and Commerce for Middle Franconia) were elected to the extended board.
The General Assembly also confirmed Professor Dr. Jörg Franke (Friedrich-Alexander Universität Erlangen-Nürnberg), Professor Dr. Jörg Kapischke (Ansbach University of Applied Sciences), Professor Dr. Frank Opferkuch (Nuremberg Institute of Technology) and Britta Walthelm (Nuremberg City Council Officer for Environment and Health) as co-opted members of the Board.
